“What kind of insurance can be used?”

Someone posted this question to our facebook page yesterday (Good ahead and like us!). Great question.

Insurance covers the diagnosis and treatment of vein disease, including varicose veins. Insurance – including Medicare – cover treatment of venous insufficiency and varicose veins if there are symptoms associated with the problem veins.  These symptoms tend to include:

  • Pain at the site of the veins
  • Heaviness, tiredness of the legs
  • Restless Leg Syndrome or cramping
  • Swelling (also called edema)
  • Skin changes including discoloration around the ankles
  • Bleeding
  • Ulcers

All insurance providers should provide some coverage for your medical vein disease and our staff will work with you to ensure maximum insurance coverage, regardless of network status.  While we are in network with a large number of insurance companies, we routinely work with insurance providers on an out-of-network basis and process paperwork to minimize your out of pocket costs.

We invite you to make an appointment for a free vein screening or a full consultation – which is covered by insurance – to understand your options.
